Anonymous visit statistics
Separately from the personal information described above, we keep a private, cookieless count of how this site is used, so we can see which pages matter and keep improving. For each visit we record only: that a visit happened, your language, the page you landed on, and — if you continue from the homepage — the next page you open. Nothing else.
It runs through our own server in the EU (not a third-party analytics company) and is deliberately minimal: no cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting, and we do not store your IP address. A short-lived random number, held only in your browser’s memory, links “a visit” to “the first page opened” within that one visit; it disappears the moment you close the tab and never identifies you across visits. This data cannot be traced back to you, and our basis for it is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
